African American Influence in the Greater Ville

Description

The Greater Ville neighborhood is one of St. Louis’ oldest neighborhoods which was home to many influential and successful African Americans in the City of St. Louis, including Chuck Berry, Annie Malone, and Ike and Tina Turner. The 4 the Ville Team will be having a neighborhood tour of the Historic Ville. The Tour will begin at the Tandy Community Center on Annie Malone and Kennerly Avenues. Please join us for a educational and personal tour exploring the history, architecture, people, and places that create one of this city’s preserved past.

This excursion will be available for up to 20 students.

Physical requirements: Walking outdoors is required for this excursion.

Note: Students participating in this excursion are expected to bring a UPass since the group will take public transit to the excursion site. If this is an issue please notify the Meet St. Louis Coordinator at MeetStLouis@wustl.edu, immediately.
